The Behavior Analysis Lab Manual was used in the lab portion of a required undergraduate course that introduced Behavior Analysis to Psychology majors by providing each pair of students with their own individual, actual, live animal that they had to change the behavior of. It enabled students to prove to themselves that the principles of Behavior Analysis were facts rather than psychobabble, and were a knowledge base upon which they could realisticly expect to build a successful career. It was a highly engineered course with a number of lab assistants, daily power point presentations, videos, and one on one support. It was evaluated as one of the most helpful courses in the major by students.
