This brings us to the real meat and potatoes work, that is, developing the broadest and most coherent paradigm possible. It is, in fact, the raison d'être of research. It is the attempt to add a stroke to the canvas, to solve a mystery that no one before has solved nor solved so well. It is the attempt to bring order out of chaos. It is fun because it allows the researcher to apply the details derived from research to the bigger problem: a general account of nature.
